Zenprox EC Insecticide is a versatile insecticide manufactured by Zoecon to control a wide range of insects. It can be applied with various types of spray equipment for indoor applications. Zenprox EC uses the active ingredients etofenprox and piperonyl butoxide (PBO) to provide a fast knockdown and lasting effects. It can be used as a broadcast application on carpets to combat flea infestations.
Zenprox EC can also be used as a crack and crevice treatment to reach roaches and bed bugs. Zenprox EC is a great stand-alone product, or it can be mixed with an insect growth regulator (IGR) for the most severe infestations.
Tools Needed
To apply Zenprox EC Insecticide, a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, Micro-Injector or Actisol applicators are needed. Zenprox EC is for indoor applications and can be easily applied with a handheld pump sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Zenprox EC Insecticide you will need by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, multiply length x width to get the total square footage to be treated. The Zenprox EC label states that Zenprox should be applied at a rate of 2 fl. oz. per 1,000 square feet in a gallon of water. If you have a 5,000 square foot area to be treated, you would need 10 oz. of Zenprox EC mixed with 5 gallons of water.
- Step 2: To begin making applications with a handheld pump sprayer, fill the spray tank halfway with water. Add the appropriate amount of Zenprox EC to the spray tank and shake the spray tank to mix. Add the rest of the required amount of water to make a solution. Shake the spray tank again to make sure it is thoroughly mixed.
- Step 3: Make applications of Zenprox EC on surface areas and cracks and crevices listed on the label. Use a fan spray setting to get nice even coverage on surfaces and a pin stream setting for cracks and crevices. Let all areas dry before allowing people or pets to re-enter. Applications can be made every 14 days as needed.
Where to Use
Zenprox EC is formulated to apply as an indoor broadcast, crack, crevice, void, and spot treatment. It can be applied in homes, hotels, schools, hospitals, office buildings, and more. Zenprox EC can be applied to various surface areas including baseboards, carpets, floors, around plumbing pipes, under furniture and appliances, in closets, mattresses, box springs, wall decorations, rugs, and more.
Do not apply Zenprox EC to food or feed handling areas. Only use as a crack and crevice spray when treating mattresses.
When to Use
Zenprox EC can be used as a preventative treatment with a 14 to 28 day residual barrier depending on the targeted pest. It can also be used as a quick knockdown treatment for current indoor insect infestations.
Do not apply Zenprox EC more than every 2 weeks.
Safety Information
Zenprox EC is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying Zenprox EC. Allow treated areas to dry before re-entry.
Special Considerations
Zenprox EC will can be pre-mixed and used the next day, just shake the spray tank to mix well before use. Zenprox EC can be mixed with an insect growth regulator to stop the life cycle of fleas or bed begs.
