Trimec Bentgrass Formula
08/20/26
Trimec Bentgrass Formula is developed by PBI Gordon and is a post-emergent herbicide mean to control broadleaf weeds that show up on bentgrass and other sensitive grasses.
It is especially effective in eliminating clover, chickweed, knotweed, sheep sorrel, oxalis, and spotted spurge. The product can be used in a wide range of temperatures down to 50F, which makes it so you can use it for weed control in early Spring and Fall.
Tools Needed
To use Trimec Bentgrass Formula, you will need to mix the product into a sprayer of your choosing such as a backpack, hose-end or hand-pump sprayer. For the average job, a hand-pump gallon sprayer works best.
How to Use

- Step 1: Measure the area you wish to treat and based on that information mix the appropriate amount of Trimec Bentgrass Formula with water in a hand-pump sprayer. Mix at a rate of 1.1 to 1.5 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft and agitate well in the sprayer to ensure it's well mixed.
- Step 2:Spray the target weed, making sure to get even coverage via fan spray setting. You can either spot treat or broadcast the product over an area depending on the weed issue and severity.
- Step 3: Reapply the product after 30 days if weeds are still persisting.
Where to Use
Trimec Bentgrass Formula can be used on turf, landscapes and golf courses. It is especially useful for treating bentgrass greens, tees, fairways, and aprons. It's also registered for use on buffalograss, centipedegrass, and St. Augustinegrass.
When to Use
Use Trimec Bentgrass Formula when you notice broadleaf weeds emerging on your bentgrass or other sensitive. The great thing about Trimec Bentgrass Formula is it can be used almost any time of the year as it is effective down to 50 degrees Farenheit so you can apply it in early Spring or in the Fall. Apply when weeds are young and actively growing. Avoid applying during high temperatures and when it is dry.
Safety Information
Before applying this product, please make sure to put on the proper PPE for safety (long sleeved clothing, gloves, face mask, goggles).
