Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is developed by PBI Gordon and is a post-emergent herbicide meant to control broadleaf weeds. Trimec 992 is designed for turfgrass applications, non-crop, and industrial vegetation management applications.

Trimec 992 features 3 active ingredients with multiple mode of action for fast weed control. After application, Trimec 992 will translocate through the targeted plant causing weed stems to curl and twist, leaf cupping and withering, leading to death of the weed.

Use this economical herbicide to save money spraying over warm and cool season grasses, landscapes and ornamentals.

Tools Needed

To use Trimec 992 Herbicide, you will need to mix the product into a sprayer of your choosing such as a backpack, hose-end or hand-pump sprayer. For the average job, a hand-pump gallon sprayer works best.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Measure the area you wish to treat and based on that information mix the appropriate amount of Trimec 992 Herbicide with water in a hand-pump sprayer. Mix at a rate of 1.1 - 1.5 oz. per 0.125 - 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft . Agitate the sprayer to ensure the solution is well mixed.
  • Step 2:Apply the Trimec 992 solution the target weed, making sure to get uniform coverage via fan spray setting. You can either spot treat or broadcast the product over an area depending on the weed issue and severity of the infestation.
  • Step 3: Reapply the product after 30 days as needed for total control.

Where to Use

Trimec 992 Herbicide can be used on warm and cool seasons grasses on residential/domestic, ornamental turf, institutional, non-cropland, and agricultural (commercial sod production) sites.

When to Use

Use Trimec 992 Herbicide upon the first sign of broadleaf weeds emerging on your turf. Apply when weeds are young and actively growing. Avoid applying during high temperatures and when it is dry. Fall applications can provide improved control for emerged winter annuals and perennials. Spot treatments during summer may be appropraite for sparse infestations or as a follow up application or when broadleaf weeds are actively growing. Application of Trimec 992 should be delayed 3 to 4 weeks after newly sodded, sprigged, or plugged areas.

Safety Information

Before applying this product, please make sure to put on the proper PPE for safety (long sleeved clothing, gloves, face mask, goggles). The product is safe for pets and kids when used according to the label. Pets and children should not be present during treatment and should remain out of the treated areas until they have completely dried.

Special Considerations

Trimec 992 is limited to 2 broadcast treatments per site per year. Certain spray additives, liquid fertilizers, and tank mixtures containing emulsifiable concentrates may reduce selectivity.
