Tekko Pro IGR Insect Growth Regulator

Tekko Pro IGR, manufactured by Control Solutions, is a innovative insect growth regulator that disrupts the life cycle of targeted insects with 2 active ingredients, preventing the juvenile pest from growing into adults.

By disrupting the life cycle of the pest with Pyriproxyfen 1.30% and Novaluron 1.30%, it will cause younger pests to become sterilized and prevent the formation of a new exoskeleton ceasing their growth, thus preventing the population from rebounding. Pyriproxyfen is a juvenile hormone analog, which makes the pre-adult stage of the insect longer so that it dies before it is able to reproduce. Novaluron is a chitin synthesis inhibitor, which stops the insect from being able to molt making the nymphs more likely to perish from other influences.

Tekko Pro IGR provides effective, long-term control of pests like cockroaches for up to 6 months and fleas for up to 7 months. With its extended residual control and ability to be photostable for up to 14 days, helps to save professionals and home owners time and money.

Tools Needed

To use Tekko Pro IGR, you will need a handpump sprayer, backpack sprayer or hose-end sprayer for smaller residential applications.

For immeidiate relief of labeled adult insects, this product will need to be mixed an adulticide insecticide.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Tekko Pro IGR will be needed by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure (in feet) the area length and width, then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). Depending on the pest you are treating, Tekko Pro can be mixed at a rate of 1 to 2 fl. oz. per gallon of water to cover up to 1,500 sq. ft. So for example, if you measured an area of 3,000 sq. ft. for treatment and wanted to control fleas, you would need 2 oz. of Tekko Pro to be mixed in 2 gallons of water.
• Step 2: In a sprayer of your choosing, fill that sprayer halfway with the required amount of water. Add the appropriate amount of Tekko Pro and then add the remaining half of water. Close the sprayer lid and agitate the sprayer until it is well mixed.
• Step 3: Spray the finished Tekko Pro IGR mixture on labeled areas where pests frequent or where previous infestations have been known to occur. Spray as much insects as possible with direct contact or thoroughly spray all areas where these pests may hide paying attention to places such as beneath sinks, behind and beneath stoves and refrigerators, cracks and crevices, around garbage cans, cabinets, along the outside of baseboards, door and window sills, door and window frames and floors, around and on drains, pipes, plumbing, behind bookcases, storage and other utility installation areas, infested furniture and the inside of cabinets and closets. Indoor application is limited to space, general surface, spot, and/or crack and crevice treatments. Outdoors, focus on spray-on shrubs and grass making sure to also get the underside of leaves. Repeat applications of this product in 90 days or every 7 months for fleas as necessary.

When to Use

Use Tekko Pro IGR as a preventative or when heavy insect activity can be seen. For best results, it is better to use Tekko Pro IGR with a pesticide that will kill adult pests (an adulticide).

Tekko Pro IGR is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Remove animals before treating areas with Tekko Pro IGR.

Do not allow children or pets to contact treated surfaces until spray has dried.

Special Considerations

Tekko Pro IGR is not a contact kill, it prevents insects from reproducing. For immediate results mix Tekko Pro with a contact kill adulticide insecticide like Supreme IT or Flex 10-10.
