Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide is a cost-efficient termiticide/insecticide that removes pest populations around structures. Remains in treated soil for up to 10 years to kill termites and has a low 2 reapplication rate for the entire year for perimeter treatments.
04/10/26
Taurus SC Fipronil Insecticide, by Control Solutions Inc., is a non-repellent insecticide that controls and eliminates termites for up to 10 years when applied to soil. It protects structures against other insects for up to 90 days.
Containing 9.1% Fipronil, its active ingredient works through systemic transfer. As a non-repellent, pests like termites, ants, cockroaches, spiders, and house crickets contact the insecticide without detection and carry it to the colony. The active ingredient spreads through contact or food sharing, leading to total colony elimination.
Taurus SC is a durable, professional-grade product providing long-lasting termite and insect control.
Tools Needed
For large areas, use a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or professional spraying equipment.
Post-construction treatments may require sub-slab injection tools to drill under concrete and apply the product.
For trench applications, use a pickaxe or shovel to dig, and a 5-gallon bucket to mix the water-based concentrate.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure the treatment area (length × width) for square footage. For trenches, measure the building perimeter. Mix Taurus SC at 0.8, 1.2, or 1.6 fl. oz. per gallon of water for 0.06%, 0.09%, or 0.125% dilutions respectively. Typically, 0.8 fl. oz./gallon (0.06%) is used. One gallon treats about 1,000 sq. ft. For trenches, apply 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet per foot depth. Mix 0.8 fl. oz. per gallon in a 5-gallon bucket to prevent spills. For 4 gallons, mix 3.2 fl. oz. product total.
- Step 2: For exterior spraying with a 1-gallon sprayer, fill one-quarter with water, add the correct amount of Taurus SC, then fill to one gallon. Close and shake well.
- Step 3: Apply post-construction as low-pressure, coarse spray. Treat an 18-inch band around pest entry points such as doors, windows, vents, plumbing, wall voids, crawl spaces, and hollow masonry. Spray one foot up and one foot out around the building perimeter. For termite trenches, dig a 6-inch wide and deep trench around the perimeter, keep soil for backfilling. Divide trenches every 10 feet using soil dams and apply 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet. After treatment, backfill and compact soil firmly.
Where to Use
Taurus SC is labeled for outdoor use only. Indoor use is limited to treating active ant or termite infestations inside wall voids.
Apply it around building perimeters, under slabs, in crawl spaces, or in pre- and post-construction treatments. It controls ants and other pests when applied to interior perimeters, hollow block foundations, or voids under slabs.
Mixed with a foaming agent, it can be applied into hollow masonry voids, filled stoops, fireplace bases, wall studs, and other hard-to-access areas. Apply thoroughly at all potential pest entry and nesting sites for complete colony control.
Do not apply within 15 feet of fresh water bodies such as lakes, rivers, streams, marshes, ponds, or fish ponds.
When to Use
Use Taurus SC as a preventive or active treatment for termites in wood. Suitable for both pre- and post-construction. Avoid application during rain or when soil is saturated or frozen.
Safety Information
When used as directed, Taurus SC is safe for children and pets. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while mixing or applying.
Keep people, pets, and children away from treated areas until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Taurus SC is not for indoor use except for treating active ant or termite infestations inside hollow masonry voids.
