Segovis Fungicide, manufactured by Syngenta, is an effective fungicide that has a strong systemic and unique mode of action for the control certain aerial and soil-borne diseases on a variety of ornamental plants.

Contains the active ingredient oxathiapiprolin 18.7%, which offers a unique of mode of action by inhibiting the protein domain of oomycetes for complete disease control. With its modern mode of action, growers are able to diversify rotation fungicide programs and manage possible disease resistance of downy mildew and phytopthora.

Segovis Fungicide long-lasting protection and low 4 hour restricted entry interval can help reduce general labor from fewer hours spent reapplying. Provides superior protection at low use rates whether applied as a drench or spray.

Tools Needed

To apply Segovis Fungicide, you will need to use a type of chemigation system or backpack sprayer.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Segovis Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Foliar applications to ornamentals, apply 0.6 to 3.2 fl. oz. of Segovis Fungicide in 100 gallons of water. For container drench applications to ornamentals, use 0.65 to 3.2 fl. oz. of product in 100 gallons of water. Plants grown in the ground in nurseries, including in outdoor growing structures, apply 1.2 to 9.15 fl. oz. of product per 25 gallons of water. For fresh basil transplants as a foliar application, use 1.1 to 2.4 fl. oz. of product in 15 gallons of water per acre.
  • Step 2: In a separate tank mix container, fill it with half the amount of water then add the measured amount of Segovis Fungicide. While agitating the tank add the remaining half of water. Begin application of the spray solution after the product has completely dispersed into the mix water. Maintain agitation until all of the mixture has been sprayed.
  • Step 3: For foliar applications, apply the mixed Segovis Fungicide to the top and bottom of plant leaves, stems, and surrounding soil until wet, but not to the point of runoff. For drench applications, spray this product around until the root zone of plants. Drench applications to container will be the same except you need to avoid leaching through the container.

Where to Use

Segovis Fungicide can be used for ornamental plants grown in greenhouses, outdoor growing structures (including shade houses, lath houses and other outdoor growing structures), and nurseries and outdoor ornamental plants grown in commercial landscapes including business and office complexes, shopping complexes, institutional buildings, airports, and cemeteries.

When to Use

Segovis Fungicide should be applied prior to disease development or at the first sign of disease symptoms.
