Roundup Custom Herbicide
Roundup Custom Herbicide is a non-selective weed and brush killer for aquatic and terrestrial use. This is a systemic herbicide with no residual soil activity and can effectively control over 190 post-emergent weeds.
04/10/26
Roundup Custom Herbicide, manufactured by Monsanto, is a non-selective aquatic and terrestrial herbicide used to control over 190 annual and perennial weeds, brush, vines, and tress.
As a systemic herbicide, it will safely travel through the targeted weed's vascular system without leaving behind any residual soil activity. Once applied, unwanted vegetation shows results within 2 days for most annual and 7 days for perennials.
Roundup Customer Herbicide provides flexibility in application for weed and brush control despite it being on land or water.
Tools Needed
Roundup Custom Herbicide can be used with most pressurized sprayers, such as handheld and backpack sprayers, spray rigs, and industrial injection and aerial applicators.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much RoundUp Custom you will need by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment areas length and width in feet then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). The rate for RoundUp will vary depending on your targeted weed, application site, and desired solutions concentration. For general ground vegetation management with 1 gallon of water, the concentration can vary from a 0.5% concentration (0.66 oz.) to an 8% concentration (10 oz.) per gallon of water. So for example, if you wanted a 1% concentration, the rate is 1.3 oz. This will treat 1,000 sq. ft. If you measured an area of 2,000 sq. ft., you would need to mix 2.6 oz. in 2 gallons of water to cover the entire area.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with the required amount of water. Add the appropriate measured amount of RoundUp Customer based on your calculations and agitate the sprayer. Add the remaining half of water and agitate again until the solution is well mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the targeted weed, being sure that the undesirable plant comes into direct contact with the chemical. Always consider drift and over-spraying so that plants that you do not want to be affected do not accidentally come into contact with the solution.
Where to Use
Roundup Custom Herbicide can be used in aquatic and terrestrial sites that require weed and brush management, such as ponds, crop, and non-agricultural cropland, industrial sites, lawns, roadsides, and more. Non-agricultural crop sites include, airports, apartment complexes, commercial sites, golf courses, lumber yards, manufacturing sites, natural areas, office complexes, public areas, parks, rights-of-way, parking lots, pastures, railroads, schools, utility sites, rangelands and wildlife management areas.
When to Use
Use Roundup Custom Herbicide when you need fast and effective control of weeds and brush. Be sure to apply on a calm day where there is no rain in the immediate forecast. Annual weeds are easiest to control when they are small. Best control of most weeds is obtained when you apply the product at late growth stages.
Safety Information
RoundUp Custom Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
Keep people and pets off treated areas until spray solution has dried.
Special Considerations
Unless otherwise stated in the label, Roundup Custom Herbicide requires the use of a surfactant to be mixed into the solution. A surfactant is an adjuvant that will help the solution stick to plant surfaces. This is important because the chemical solution must come into direct contact with the targeted plant to be most effective.

| Keith's Pro Tip | "Don't forget; RoundUp Custom Herbicide is a non-selective post-emergent herbicide. This means that it will only kill weeds that have already sprouted, but it also means that it could kill plants that you want to keep if they come into direct contact with the chemical. If you need to spray one plant while keeping others around it, cover the desirable plants so that they won't accidentally get sprayed." |
