Ranger Pro Herbicide from Monsanto is an affordable, non-selective, post-emergent herbicide containing Glyphosate, identical to RoundUp Pro in composition.

This water-soluble liquid controls most grasses and includes a built-in surfactant, so adding extra surfactant is optional.

As a systemic herbicide with no soil activity, Ranger Pro is absorbed through roots or foliage, moves throughout the plant, and kills it without harming nearby plants not sprayed.

Tools Needed

Use a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or professional skid sprayer for larger areas to apply Ranger Pro Glyphosate Herbicide.

How to Use

person using sprayer to target weeds in pavement cracks

  • Step 1: Measure the treatment area’s length and width in feet, then multiply to find square footage. For general control of annual and perennial weeds, mix Ranger Pro at a 0.5% to 10% solution (2/3 fl. oz. to 13 fl. oz. per gallon of water) to cover 1,000 sq. ft. Use higher rates for weeds taller than 6 inches. Check the label for specific rates by weed type.
  • Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with water, then add the correct amount of Ranger Pro near the end. For backpack or handheld sprayers, premix the solution in a larger container before filling.
  • Step 3: Spray targeted weeds at low pressure until foliage is wet but not dripping, using a fan nozzle for even coverage. This helps avoid harming nearby plants.

Where to Use

spraying Ranger Pro herbicide along overgrown railroad tracks

Ranger Pro is suitable for outdoor areas like parks, farms, croplands, apartment complexes, Christmas tree farms, ditch banks, ornamental nurseries, golf courses, lumber yards, warehouses, schools, storage areas, railroads, construction sites, and conservation properties.

When to Use

Apply Ranger Pro on sunny, warm, calm days when weeds are young and growing actively to enhance absorption and control.

Avoid using on drought-stressed, diseased, or insect-damaged weeds, as control will be less effective.

Spray on days with low wind to reduce drift.

Safety Information

Ranger Pro is safe around children and pets when used as directed. Always wear proper protective gear when mixing or applying.

Keep people and pets off treated areas until dry.

Special Considerations

Because Ranger Pro is non-selective and kills any plant contacted, avoid spray drift onto desirable turf or plants.
