Orthene PCO Pellets
04/09/26
Orthene PCO Pellets, manufactured by Amavac, is a water dispensable granule insecticide to kill a broad-spectrum of pests such as earwigs and pesticide resistant pests like German cockroaches in various industrial, institutional, and commercial buildings like hotels, stores, and more.
These pre-measured packs contain acephate 97.4 %, which works by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase and ultimately paralyzing the insects nervous systems leading to eventual death.
Orthene PCO Pellets was uniquely designed to provide a long-term residual against many pests on tile, stainless steel, and other non porous surfaces in sensitive areas like commercial kitchens.
Tools Needed
To apply Orthene PCO Pellets, you will need a handheld pump sprayer or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine the area to apply Orthene PCO Pellets as this will determine the rate to use. Use Orthene PCO Pellets for residual pest control in the areas listed by application as a 0.75% or 1.0% spray. Use the 0.75% rate for control of light infestations on non-porous surfaces and the 1.0% spray to reduce heavy infestations. To achieve a 1/2% (0.5) concentration, mix 19.5 grams of Orthene PCO Pellets (or 1/2 packets) in 1 gallon of water. For a 3/4% (0.75) concentration, apply 29.3 grams (3/4 packets) of product in 1 gallon of water. For a 1% concentration, mix 39.0 grams (1 packet) of product in 1 gallon of water. Ant mound drench applications, dissolve 1 packet (1.4 oz.) of product in 9 gallons of water. Refer to the product label as it will give specific concentration rates that can be used.
- Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add required amount of Orthene PCO Pellet (leave packet unopened), then pour the remaining half of water. Shake the sprayer tank until it is evenly mixed.
- Step 3: After the pellets have completely dissolved and are mixed with the water, begin spraying areas where insects will travel. For perimeter treatments, spray a band of soil 6 to 10 ft. adjacent to the structure and up 2 to 3 ft. on the foundation. For an ant mound drench, apply 1 gallon of mixed Orthene PCO Pellets to each mound by sprinkling the mound until it is wet and treat a 4 ft. diameter circle around the mound. Do not treat a mound more than once per season. For spot applications in listed structures on this product label, adjust the sprayer to a fan setting then spray no more than 2 sq. ft. per individual spot treatment. Treat areas such as baseboards, under and behind refrigerators, stoves, dishwashing and other equipment, as well as in storage areas, closets, sinks, cabinets, around windows, doors and water pipes. Spot treatment should also include underside of drawers, shelves and other sites where cockroaches frequent or travel.
Where to Use
Orthene PCO Pellets can be used within industrial, institutional and commercial buildings including restaurants, warehouses, stores, hospitals, hotels, manufacturing plants and ships. Also, apply as a residual spray or with a paint brush to surfaces of buildings, window frames, shutters, entry ways, screens, eaves, patios, garages, carports, around garbage areas and other areas where these pests congregate.
