Nyguard IGR Concentrate

Nyguard IGR Concentrate, manufactured by MGK, is an excellent juvenille hormone mimic that stops egg laying activities and future adult activities of over 50 types of insects both indoors and outdoors. 

With its active ingredient 2-[1-Methyl-2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy) ethoxy] pyridine 10.00%, this insect growth regulator works by getting to the root cause of the pest infestation - the eggs, larvae, and nymphs which turn into reproductive adults. Insects like cockroaches, ants, and mosquitoes that enter treated areas will result in abnormal growth development leading to sterility or death upon contact and up to 7 months after application. 

Nyguard IGR Concentrate is a odorless insect growth regulator liquid that delivers excellent results of pest infestations with minimum risks. This broad-spectrum product may also be with another non-IGR insecticide for wider adult pest coverage and help to reduce overall pest population size. 

Tools Needed

Depending on your intended application method, you will need a pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, void injectors, in carpet shampoo, paintbrush, roller professional foam applictor, ULV/fogging machine, or foaming sprayer to apply Nyguard IGR Concentrate. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Close the area to be treated and shut off ventilation systems prior to application. Determine how much Nyguard IGR Concentrate to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For general broadcast, spot, or crack and crevice applications, mix 4 ml of Nyguard Insect Growth Regulator per one gallon of water per 1,500 square feet. You may also mix Nyguard Insect Growth Regulator with your chosen insecticide solution. Be sure to read the selected insecticide label for further mix rates and application methods.
• Step 2: Place half the amount of required water into your selected spray tank device, then pour in the measured amount Nyguard Insect Growth Regulator, and fill the rest of the way with remaining half of water. Close the sprayer lid and shake to ensure even agitation.
• Step 3: Apply solution as a coarse, wetting spray to labeled areas. Monitor the pest activity. Depending on the severity of you infestation, you may have to make repeat applications at 2 to 4 week intervals. Read all label directions for Nyguard and any pesticide you use along with this IGR to prevent over applying. Ventilated treated areas before re-entry.

When using this product, be sure to focus on common areas that see pest activity. Spots like along baseboards, trims, under sinks, under cabinetry, behind walls, in garages, in turf grass, around patios, and mulch.

Do not apply this product directly to food or food-handling surfaces.   

When to Use

Use Nyguard IGR Concentrate as a preventative or when heavy insect activity can be seen. For best results, it is better to use this product with a pesticide that will kill adult pests (an adulticide). 

Safety Information

Nyguard IGR Concentrate is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.

Do not allow children or pets to contact treated surfaces until spray has thoroughly dried.

Special Considerations

Remember that Nyguard IGR Concentrate is an insect growth regultor, not a killing pesticide. This will prevent younger insects from maturing and sterilize adults. While this alone can be enough to control moderate infestations, it can take up to a month before you notice less activity. Use Nyguard with a pesticide that will kill adult insects to get control faster.

This product sterilizes adult insects rather than killing them, it can take up to 4 weeks before you might notice a dip in activity.
