Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer
Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer is a easy to use tree injection insecticide that provides broad-spectrum control against ornamental and interior landscape pests.
04/10/26
Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer, manufactured by Monterey, is a convenient systemic insecticide specially formulated to control pests within two weeks when injected into foliage.
This easy to use product gives full season pest control from pests like aphids, pine bark beetles, and sawfly larvae with no mixing required. Once injected, Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer takes up into the entire tree and landscape ornamental which results in longer pest pest control since it cannot be easily washed away.
Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer is a specially designed tree insecticide and syringe applicator that reduces pest activity and makes pest control more easier for the common do-it-yourselfer homeowner.
Tools Needed
To apply Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer, you will need to use a measuring tape, power drill and clean, sharp 1/4" drill bit.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure the circumference of tree within 12" of the ground and, using the dosage chart above, determine the correct number of application sites.
- Step 2: Using a clean, sharp 1/4" drill bit, drill a hole for each application site, spaced evenly (4" to 5" apart) around the base of the tree, within 12" of the ground. Drill holes 1" deep and at a 45º downward angle (so the insecticide will stay in the tree).
- Step 3: Place the metal syringe tip on the end of the syringe. Twist to lock tip in place.
- Step 4: Remove the tear-off covering from the metal cap on the top of the insecticide bottle exposing the rubber stopper.
- Step 5: Depress the plunger completely into the syringe.
- Step 6: Insert the syringe tip through the silicone stopper into the bottle; this requires a steady pressure.
- Step 7: Turn the bottle upside down so the insecticide surrounds the syringe tip. Slowly pull back the plunger to draw 1 ml of insecticide into the syringe. Markings on the syringe barrel show the 1 ml fill line. Do not pull the plunger out of the syringe; you will break the syringe.
- Step 8: Carefully withdraw the syringe and tip from the stopper.
- Step 9: Place the tip into one of the drilled holes. Slowly and completely depress plunger to deposit insecticide into the tree.
- Step 10: Repeat process placing 1 ml of insecticide in each drilled hole.
- Step 11: Thoroughly water the yard area around the tree after treatment, unless it has recenlty rained.
- Step 12: Allow syringe and syringe tip to thoroughly dry prior to storage or disposal.
- Step 13: If you have any insecticide remaining in the container, it may be stored in the container; the rubber stopper is self-sealing.
Where to Use
Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer can be used on landscape ornamentals, residential trees, and interior plantscapes.
Do not treat food-bearing plants.
When to Use
Use Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer anytime during the growing season. Treatments earlier in the growing season are more successful.
As a preventative, apply in early spring prior to insect activity in the tree; one application provides full-season control.
To kill insects already on a tree, apply in spring through fall; more than one application may be needed depending on the infestation severity or tree condition.
Safety Information
Monterey DIY Multi-Insect Killer is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product.
Special Considerations
Holes drilled in a tree are wounds. Do not drill holes in a tree more than once a year or more than two consecutive years.
