Monterey Crab-E-Rad Plus is a efficient selective herbicide that easily controls major broadleaf and grassy weeds in residential, industrial, and institutional ornamental turf lawns.
04/10/26
Monterey Crab-E-Rad Plus, manufactured by Monterey, is a effective post-emergent herbicide that controls broadleaf and grassy weeds in cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf.
Powered by three potent active ingredients, this product will kill the toughest of weed species like crabgrass, henbit, and clover within 3 weeks of application.
Monterey Crab-E-Rad Plus is a powerful selective herbicide concentrate that offers economical weed control at minimum rates and becomes rainproof after a few hours further increasing its value.
Tools Needed
A handheld pump sprayer, hose-end sprayer, or backpack sprayer may be used.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Monterey Crab-E-Rad Plus to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For spot treatments, use 6.4 fl. oz. of Monterey Crab-E-Rad Plus per 4 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Make no more than 2 applications per year. For ornamental lawns and turf, apply no more than 0.5 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. per application and no more than 1.0 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. per year, excluding spot treatments. Refer the label for specific rates.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, pour in the proper amount of product, and add the remaining half of water. Close the tank lid and agitate it well until evenly mixed.
- Step 3: Adjust sprayer nozzle to a coarse spray pattern. Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Avoid fine mists. If rainfall does not occur in 2 to 7 days after application, irrigation of at least one-half inch is required. A repeat application may be done when 3 weeks have passed after the first treatment.
Where to Use
Listed weeds in residential and ornamental turfgrasses may be treated.
When to Use
Spray during the growing season when weeds are young and growing actively. For best results, do not mow for 2 days before or after treating.
Avoid entire lawn treatments when air temperature exceeds 90 degrees Fahrenheit and when rainfall is not expected for the next 24 hours after application.
Safety Information
Monterey Crab-E-Rad Plus is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Special Considerations
Do not allow spray to get on ornamental plants or vegetables since injury may result. Do not spray around roots of ornamentals and trees.
