Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer

Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer, manufactured by Nitrophos, is a winterizing fertilizer designed to give your turfgrass a boost in growth during fall and winter months helping it to resist disease growth and quick green-up in the spring.

Its high nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium formula helps promote deep rooting of turfgrass by working as a slow-release fertilizer. Due to this mode of action the granules provide a slow amount of nutrients needed to repair turf stressed from the previous summer damages and upcoming winter weather.

Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer is specially designed for St. Augustine and Bermuda grasses in the southern region. With the necessary amount of nutrients from this long-lasting fertilizer treated turf will be able to prevent winter diseases while also promoting early spring-up.

Tools Needed

To use Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer, you will need a push spreader.  Be sure to follow the proper calibration settings of your sprayer before applying.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then mutliply them together (length X width = square footage). Apply 5 lbs. of Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer per 1000 sq. ft. 
• Step 2:  Load the appropriate amount of Nitrophos Fall Special fertilizer into your spreader based on your calculations. Read the label for proper calibration settings for your spreader model.
• Step 3: Spread the Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer across your lawn evenly, and then water in. You may need to do two pass-throughs perpendicular to one another for the best coverage.

Where to Use

Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer can be used on St. Augustine and Bermuda turfgrasses on commercial or residential lawns and landscapes.

When to Use

Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer is best used mid-fall to establish winter hardiness and resistance to disease and other stressors.

Safety Information

Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handing and applying this product.  

Do not apply where children and pets can come into contact with it until it has been sufficiently watered in and absorbed into the ground surface.

Do not apply this product in turf where animals may graze. 

Special Considerations

After application, it is important to water the Nitrophos Fall Special Fertilizer down immediately so none of the fertilizer is left on the blades of grass. You want to ensure that it reaches the soil to be most effective. If you get any on your pavement or walkways, sweep or wash it off quickly. You will run the risk of staining the pavement or concrete areas if left.
