DeltaGard G Granular Insecticide
05/16/26
DeltaGard G is a granulated insecticide produced by Bayer. It is used by certified pest control applicators to treat outdoor areas to eliminate chinch bugs, roaches, spiders, and more. DeltaGard G is made with the active ingredient, deltamethrin, which kills insects after they come in contact and ingest it. It can be applied as a broadcast treatment onto lawns, a spot treatment for fire ants or digging wasps, and as an interior treatment in plantscapes.

Tools Needed
To apply DeltaGard G, a handheld spreader or push spread is needed. It is recommended to use a handheld spreader when applying DeltaGard G to small lawn areas.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much DeltaGard G you will need by calculating the square footage of the area you wish to treat. To do this, measure (in feet) and multiply the length times the width of the treatment area (length x width = square footage). DeltaGard G should be applied at a rate of 2 to 3 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. For example, if you measured a treatment area of 3,000 sq. ft. you would need to apply 6 to 9 lbs. of DeltaGard G to cover the entire area.
- Step 2: Pour the correct amount of DeltaGard G in the spreader, depending on the square footage being treated. Adjust the spreader setting depending on your manufacturer model to ensure an even application. Walk at a steady pace starting from the perimeter of the yard working towards the middle, releasing the granules evenly onto the ground.
- Step 3: If rain is not in the forecast, water the treated areas with 1/4" to 1/2' inch of water. Do not apply DeltaGard G more than once every 2 weeks.

Where to Use
DeltaGard G is used to control insect pests in turfgrasses, landscape ornamental plantings (including interior plantscapes), perimteres around commercial, industrial, residential, and recreational areas.
When to Use
DeltaGard G is most effective when applied as soon as insect activity is identified, and it should not be applied more than once a week. For continuous control we recommend applying DeltaGard G every 3 months.
Safety Information
DeltaGard G can only be applied by Certified Applicators. It is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying DeltaGard G.
Special Considerations
DeltaGard G must be stored and applied by a Certified Applicator. The granulated insecticide comes in a 20 pound bag that will treat up to 10,000 square feet.
