Blindside Herbicide Post Emergent
04/09/26
Blindside Herbicide Post Emergent, manufactured by FMC Professional Solutions, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that does an excellent job controlling up to 70 different broadleaf weeds and sedges on cool and warm-season turfgrasses.
This product contains the active ingredients Sulfentrazone 60% and Metsulfuron 6%, which combines into a dual-action formula that penetrates into the plants tissue and goes down to the root to completely kill an invasive weed. It is fast-acting with results showing in as quickly as a week.
Tools Needed
To use Blindside Herbicide, you will need either a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. For small lawn jobs, we recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a 4-gallon backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine out how much Blindside Herbicide you need by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure and multiple and multiply your lawn's length x width to get the total square footage to be treated. Blindside Herbicide should be used at a rate of .075 - 0.15 per 1,000 sq. ft. on cool season grasses and 0.15 - 0.23 per 1,000 sq. ft. for warm season grasses. For more specific application rates refer to the use site sections of the label.
- Step 2: Fill your selected spray tank halfway with water and then add the appropriate amount of Blindside Herbicide. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way with water and shake well and you are ready to spray.
- Step 3: Spray target weeds until wet but avoid spray solution runoff and over application. A good technique to put into practice is to avoid side-to-side movement of the nozzle when spraying as it is best to spray the nozzle directly with no movement close to the weeds or moss to ensure proper application.
Where to Use
Blindside Herbicide can be used in and around commercial and residential turf including golf courses, lawns, sports fields, cemeteries, parks, campgrounds, recreational areas, roadsides, school grounds and sod farms.
When to Use
Blindside Herbicide WDG should be used when there are unwanted weeds growing on the property such as dollarweed, buttonweed, doveweed, dandelion, nutsedge, crabgrass and more. Prime times for application is in the early spring season.
Safety Information
Blindside WDG Herbicide is safe to apply around pets and kids when used according to the label. Pets and children should not be present during treatment and should remain out of the treated areas until they have completely dried. Before applying this product, please make sure to put on the proper PPE for safety (long sleeved clothing, gloves, face mask, goggles).
Special Considerations
Blindside Herbicide WDG can be used with a surfactant if needed depending on the treatment area.
Temporary discoloration of some turf types may result from use of surfactants or adjuvants with Blindside Herbicide. High temperatures and high relative humidity may increase the risk of temporary discoloration.
