Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait is a cockroach bait manufactured by BASF that contains the active ingredient Abamectin. This bait remains effective for more than a year after initial treatment and can eliminate even the toughest infestations of roaches as well as combats bait aversion which can often happen with conventional roach baits.
Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach bait is a product that’s going to be suitable for baiting cracks and crevices of any kind which roaches like to travel along and hide in. Avert primarily targets German cockroach infestations.

Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach Bait comes ready to use right out of the package with no other tools necessary for its application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Perform an inspection of the home to identify the main areas where cockroaches are active and harboring. Note these areas. You should also calculate the square footage of the area you wish to treat to determine how much Avert bait you will need to apply. To do this measure (in feet) and multiply the area length times the width (length x width = square footage). For light infestations a minimum of 4 to 6 bait points is recommended per 100 sq. ft. of area. For heavy infestations, 12 to 24 bait points is recommended per 100 sq. ft. per area.
- Step 2: Apply Avert in small little beads around the suspected areas such as cracks and crevices in the kitchen, the bathroom, cabinetry and more.
- Step 3: Monitor the area for cockroach activity. Reapply as needed until you see a significant decrease in cockroach activity.
Where to Use
Avert can be used in apartments, campgrounds, garages, food storage areas, homes, hospitals and nursing homes, hotels, food processing plants, resorts, restaurants, schools, supermarkets, transportation equipment, utilities, warehouses and other commercial and industrial buildings.
Avert should be applied in cracks and crevices in the kitchen, in all the cabinets around where the shelving meets the cabinet walls, around the dishwasher and underneath and behind the refrigerator, all the hotspots. This is a product that is sure to kill the entire roach population when they share the bait around.
When to Use
Cockroach infestations can occur any time of the year and they can get out of hand quickly if you don't intervene. Apply Avert Cockroach Bait as soon as you begin noticing cockroach activity indoors.
Safety Information
Avert Bait is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Please wear the minimum PPE of gloves before applying the product anywhere.
Special Considerations
German cockroaches find Avert Dry Flowable Cockroach bait very palatable and it stays palatable for a much longer span of time than a gel bait because it is already in a powdery form. Gels also tend to get hard after some time which will make them not appealing any further to roaches.
