Alpine Dust, manufactured by BASF, contains the active ingredients dinotefuran and diatomaceous earth to provide an efficient knockdown and residual effect.

After insects crawl over the dust they will die within 24 to 48 hours. It is used to control a wide variety of insects found indoors and outdoors. Alpine Dust is a great crack and crevice treatment to eliminate cockroaches, ants, and more.

When used with a handheld bulb duster, Alpine Dust can be applied deep into harborages reaching the toughest pests.

Tools Needed

To apply Alpine Dust, a handheld duster or power duster is recommended. The insect dust can be applied with the applicator tip that comes on the bottle, but may not puff dust deep enough into crack and crevice or wall void areas.

Applying Insecticide

How to Use

  • Step 1: Locate areas where insects are traveling and hiding and then calculate the size of the area you wish to treat in square feet. To do this, measure (in feet) and multiply the area length and width (length x width = square footage). Alpine is recommended to be applied at a rate of 0.16 oz. to 0.32 oz. per 10 sq. ft. of area. For if the total area of the sites you wish to apply the Alpine is 100 sq. ft. you would need between 1.6 to 3.2 oz. of Alpine Dust.
  • Step 2: Open the cap on the top of the bottle. Alpine can be applied either via the applicator tip on the bottle or a handheld bulb duster can be used. If the bottle is being used, squeeze the bottle to puff the dust out while the tip is pointing or inserted into the areas needing treatment.
  • Step 3: If a handheld bulb duster is being used, turn it upside down, remove the cap, and fill the compartment halfway with dust. Place the cap back on, turn right side up and insert the tip of the duster into areas needing treatment, while squeezing the bulb to puff the dust.
  • Step 4: The dust will last for several months if not disturbed. Applications can be made as needed.

Where to Use

Alpine Dust can be applied to indoor areas as a crack and crevice around baseboards, headboards, box springs, window sills, doorways, and other areas where insects hide. It can also be applied as a spot treatment in wall voids, on shelving, garbage rooms, storage closets, cabinets, under appliances, and other areas where insects hide or crawl.

Alpine Dust can be applied to outdoor areas as a crack and crevice or spot treatment around doors, window sills, and used as a spot treatment in wall voids around plumbing and in weep holes, areas with mulch, and more.

This product is ideal for use in homes, hotels, hospitals, office spaces, warehouses, and more.

Do not apply Alpine Dust on mattresses, pillows, human or pet bedding, pets, rooms being occupied by students or medical patients, wet areas, where dishes are kept, and where food is prepared or stored.

When to Use

Alpine Dust is ideal to use when treating crack and crevice or wall void areas to kill various types of insects.
