Valar Plus Pest Control Granules by Solutions Pest and Lawn is a powerful bifenthrin-based insecticide granule for both DIY and commercial use. It controls lawn and landscape pests, providing effects within days and lasting up to three months.

This bifenthrin formula kills pests on contact, offering season-long control against imported fire ants, fleas, mole crickets, chinch bugs, and pillbugs in outdoor areas. Exposure to 0.2% bifenthrin causes paralysis, leading to death within about 10 minutes.

The product doesn’t provide an immediate knockdown but delivers reliable, long-lasting control. It prevents pests like annual bluegrass weevils, millipedes, and ants from establishing new colonies or entering homes and other structures.

Valar Plus Lawn Granules are easy to apply, odorless, and safe for children, pets, and non-target animals when used as directed. It is comparable to Talstar PL, Wisdom Granules, and Bifen L/P, sharing the same active ingredient and label but offered at a more affordable price.

Tools Needed

Use a handheld, push, or broadcast spreader for application. A handheld spreader is recommended for spot treatments.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Measure the treatment area to determine the amount of Valar Plus needed. Multiply length by width (in feet) for square footage. For acreage, divide square footage by 43,560. Apply 1.15 to 4.6 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. for lawn and perimeter pests, or 50 to 200 lbs. per acre. For industrial non-agricultural broadcast use, apply 2.3 to 4.6 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. For fire ant mounds, use ½ cup per mound and water with 1 to 2 gallons. General lawn and perimeter applications usually require 2.3 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the label for exact rates.
  • Step 2: Calibrate the spreader following label guidelines. Load the measured product amount into the spreader.
  • Step 3: Apply Valar Plus as a perimeter barrier in a 5- to 10-foot band around structures or broadcast evenly over the entire lawn and landscaped areas. Walk at a steady pace covering the area once, then crosswise again for even coverage. For ant mounds, treat a 4-foot diameter circle around each mound.
  • Step 4: Water the treated area with up to 0.5 inches of water immediately after application.

Where to Use

Suitable for lawns, landscaped areas, and perimeters around residential, institutional, commercial, industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas, and athletic fields.

Common application sites include flower beds and gardens, along house foundations and perimeters, mulch beds, fence lines, decks, and decking areas.

When to Use

Apply before or at the start of pest activity during the season, avoiding rainfall within 24 hours post-application. Best results are seen with fall or early spring treatments.

Safety Information

Valar Plus is safe around children and pets when applied according to label directions. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during application.

Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Special Considerations

For effective imported fire ant control, use broadcast treatments combined with mound drenches. Water soil before application if dry. The queen is typically killed within 24 hours after treatment.
